RENTAL POLICY
Our goal is to make the board game rental process as affordable, convenient and easy as possible for both the owner and the renter. In order to provide both parties with peace of mind, we ask that both game owners and renters agree to our rental policy.
DEPOSIT REQUIRED
In addition to the cost of renting a game, the renter will also pay a deposit to be held by the game owner throughout the duration of the rental. This deposit will be returned after the rental period, provided that the game is returned in good condition and complete. While owners should expect normal wear, if the game is damaged or parts are missing, the deposit may be retained as compensation for the repair or replacement of the game or the missing parts. The amount retained will be in accordance with the costs incurred by the owner as a result. The owner will document damage or missing parts and provide proof of costs to the renter. Any remaining deposits will be refunded to the renter after settlement of the damage. This deposit ensures that game owners can continue to rent their games without worrying their games will be returned damaged or with missing components. It also guarantees renters to receive games that are complete and playable out of the box without worry.
OWNER RESPONSIBILITY
Game owners are responsible for ensuring that the rented games are complete and undamaged both before and after rentals. We recommend that owners take photos of the game box and contents prior to renting the game as well as after the game is returned. These photos will help document any damages or missing parts that have occurred during the rental. Owners will have 24 hours to verify the complete, undamaged return of a board game and return the deposit to the renter. In case of damages or missing parts, owners will thoroughly document their case and will work directly with the renter to resolve the issue.
RENTER RESPONSIBILITY
When borrowing a game, we recommend that renters take a picture of the game’s contents and organization before playing. When returning the game we ask that renters ensure that the game is complete, good working condition and its contents are returned in the same manner in which they were received. During the rental period we ask that the renter use the game as it is intended and ensure that the game is not damaged, lost or stolen. Owners will have 24 hours to verify the complete, undamaged return of a board game and to return the deposit to the renter. In case of damages or missing parts, owners will thoroughly document their case and will work directly with the renter to resolve the issue.
BOARDGAME CARE GUIDELINES
- Transport the game in a safe manner ensuring that it does not get damaged during transport. Owners will not provide bags for transport. - Store the game in a safe, dry place and ensure that it is not exposed to extreme temperatures, humidity, or other harmful conditions. - No smoking, eating or drinking around rented board games. These activities greatly increase your chances of damaging a game. - Use the game in accordance to the game’s instructions and not in a way that may cause damage. - Do not lend or rent the game to third parties. The renter alone will be held responsible for all damages/missing parts during the rental period. - Do not modify or damage the game.
